Information For Parents

Got questions? We’ve got answers.
Are the sessions virtual or in person?
Both are currently available if you live in Pensacola or the surrounding area. If in person is preferred then a meeting place is agreed upon between the teacher and the family. We have space at our downtown location and also offer in-home sessions. Virtual sessions via Zoom and Google Meet are available for students in any location.
What should the student expect during a session?
The student should be prepared to review the subject material that’s been requested. Come prepared with his/her notes, any homework, pencil, paper, and any other tools he/she might need to complete the lesson. The tutor will review the lesson and continue to practice to ensure understanding.
How do I know if a tutor would help my student?
Before a tutor is assigned to your student, our Education Consultant will review your needs and help assess the need for a tutor. The EC will work to identify where your child is struggling or could use enrichment.
What if our tutor isn't a good fit?
You are welcome to change tutors for any reason. We recognize that situations change and sometimes a different tutor would be a better fit. We just need an honest discussion to help place another tutor to meet your needs.
What is an Education Consultation?
An Education Consultation is a discussion with your family to assess your academic situation, as well as an opportunity to get to know your student a little so that we can ensure a strong match with a great tutor whom they look forward to working with. Many factors impact how students perform in school including a weak academic foundation, lack of ability to understand how best to organize homework, the learning style of the child, and other outside influences. The consultation helps us understand all of these factors. The Education Consultant will also work with the you to establish goals and expectations for your student’s tutoring sessions, prior to making a recommendation on an appropriate enrollment.
What services do you offer for homeschooling families?
Home-schooling families find value in our tutoring services when the student needs support in just one or two classes. Group programs are also a great option if you can gather a small group with similar needs. The primary service that we offer home-schoolers is our “Full-Time” program where we provide the curriculum, establish the student’s educational path, assign work, grade assignments, and meet with the student one-on-one between 8-12 hours per week.
How do payments work?
Once your tutoring plan is created between you and your tutor, we invoice you for the coming month. You will pre-pay for tutoring services and work off that balance all month. You can view your balance and activity any time by logging into your Parent Portal.
What is your cancellation policy?
Families are required to give a 48 hour notice to their tutor if they would like to cancel a session without being charged. If the notice is within 48 hours of the session start time, the family will still be charged the full amount for the session and the tutor is not required to provide a makeup session. If the tutor cancels the session, the family will not be charged. The tutor can offer a makeup session. If a family chooses not to continue tutoring services, they must give a two week notice. If notice is not given, they will be charged for those sessions. If a family meets with a tutor more than five sessions a week, they will be required to give a months notice to discontinue tutoring services.
